Students learned about one of the three major groups of rocks today, and how this group is divided into two smaller groups of rocks. Igneous rocks are known as "fire" rocks, and originate from molten magma. How this material cools determines whether it is classified as intrusive (slow cooling inside the earth) or extrusive (fast cooling above the earth's surface).
Tonight's Homework: Read pages 28 - 32 in your book and answer the questions on page 32.
