Students "mined" for a variety of "minerals" today, and then had to engage in reclamation practices. Specifically, students came up with strategies to extract different colored candies (chocolate chips and M & M's) from cookies, using fingers, toothpicks, straws and spoons. The goal was to earn the most money from mining. Unfortunately, most students ruined their "earth" in the process.
