More Raisin Data!

Students turned in their signed grade slips today. We then turned our attention to creating a bar graph of the data we collected about the Sun-Maid (red) boxes of raisins. First we made a physical graph, by placing all of the boxes on the whiteboard in an organized fashion. We checked this graph against our data tables, and they matched perfectly.

We then moved on to investigating the number of raisins in the Albertsons (purple) boxes. Students placed their boxes on the whiteboard, creating a new kind of graph, called a stacked (or stack) graph. Students recorded the new data in their data tables, using a third column.

Tonight's Homework: Make a stack graph of your raisin data. Be sure to use two colors, include a key, and label the graph completely. For extra credit, you can make a neater and more organized data table.
