We talked about magnetic reversals and rock records of these events by using students to represent shifting polar north. This was pretty fun, but very chaotic at times.
Using the maps of the world, we plotted dots on the location of 20 recorded earthquakes and 20 active volcanoes. These locations were color coded, so students could identify general location patterns that exist between volcanoes, earthquakes and crustal plate boundaries.
Tonight's Homework: Read pages 99 - 102, and answer the questions on page 102.
