Today we conducted a data collecting activity as we watched ice melt in a beaker. Students worked in groups to record the temperature of the ice/water mixture every two minutes for a total of twenty four minutes. This is the first day of a multiple-day activity, designed to teach students about data collecting, graphing and the scientific method.
