Analyzing Our Cube Mass and Volume Data

We discussed the different kinds of data we collected this week. While collecting both the mass and volume data for our cubes, we used different methods to give us more specific and less specific data. Using a formula to determine volume might give you more specific volume measurements than using displacement. Using an electric scale will give you more specific mass data than using the plastic balance. Even so, we recognized our data was relatively consistent and the numbers were pretty close to each other.

Students were given the task to create at least one data table and one scatter plot of their data. These charts and graphs will be used next week as we study density.

Tonight's Homework: Complete what you didn't finish in class today. Both the data table and graph are due at the beginning of the period on Monday. Remember, you can do more than the minimum for a higher grade.
