Measuring Volume Using the Graduated Cylinder

Today we learned new vocabulary related to measuring liquid volume. These words are: mensiscus, adhere, eye dropper, and graduated cylinder. Students worked in pairs to accurately measure various volumes of water. Students read the mensiscus, and fine tuned their measurements by using an eye dropper. Finally, students determined the volume of water in their bottle, and recorded this number on their notes.
