Students finished their models of the layer of the earth today. Color was added to the strips, and written descriptions of layers not included on the strip were placed on the back of the strip. Afterwards, we used modeling clay to help students see the effects of compression and tension on layers of the earth. Most groups were able to see the beginnings of either a syncline or an anticline in their clay after compressing the layers.
Tonight's Homework: Complete the cream-colored worksheets for tomorrow as you finish preparing for the test over chapter 4 in your book.
