Students labeled their continent maps with names of the super continents Pangaea, Laurasia, and Gondwanoland. They viewed flip book versions of the continental split and drift. Students observed that South America and Africa were once joined, and that India fits nicely into the Eurasian continent.
Students began mapping earthquake and volcano locations on a map of the world. This activity will be continued tomorrow.
Tonight's Homework: Read pages 95 to 98 in your book, and then answer the questions on page 98. Also, complete the graphing of your volcano and earthquake data.
