We continued our rock correlation activity today, and discussed what kinds of rock layers were represented in the different outcroppings. Names like sandstone, shale and conglomerate were introduced. Students learned about erosion causing unconformities, and how index fossils allow us to determine relative ages of rock layers.
We began an activity using pennies that we will finish on Tuesday.
