Using Superposition to Understand History

Students received their chapter 6 tests back today. Many did better on this test than they've done on previous tests. Congratulations!

We looked at rock outcroppings to determine which layer of rock was first to arrive (oldest) and which was the last (youngest). Using the principle of superposition, we tried to match up several of the layers, using fossil and composition as clues to help solve the mystery.

Tonight's Homework: Create one outcrop from the four listed on your paper. Use scissors and tape to cut and then reconstruct the original rock column. Use the "fossil" and shading to help you.

If you wish to do test corrections, they are due on Friday, May 22nd.
