Smashing Sedimentary Rocks

After correcting last night's homework, students were each given a Rice Krispie "rock". We noticed it was layered, and that it represented a clastic sedimentary rock. After recording observations, student added varying amount of pressure to their "rocks" (finger, sitting, and book), and noted the changes in the texture of the "rock". We will add heat to the rocks for tomorrow's activity, to simulate the formation of metamorphic rocks.

Tonight's Homework: Finish the brown worksheets, and read section 4 of Chapter 2. Answer the questions at the end of the section. Remember, the test over chapter 3 is on Friday. Are you prepared for it?
