Students observed several types of sedimentary rock, and looked at the differences in texture and composition. Students learned about three groups of sedimentary rocks: clastic, chemical and organic. Several examples of each type of sedimentary rocks were available for students to handle. We reviewed terms like strata, conglomerate, course, fine and the like and applied them to the different rocks we looked at.
