More on Equivalence and the Scientific Method

Science
Our investigation into the number of raisins in little boxes of raisins continued today as we looked at a different brand of raisins (Safeway) to see if that made a difference. We found that Safeway boxes had more raisins, generally speaking, than SunMaid®. We discussed that this could be intentional, due to differences in the way they were packed or dried. Students created a triple column data table and recorded data from the box graph we created on the board.

Math

We finished our work on picturing equivalent fractions by going over Investigation 2.5

Tonight's Homework:

Science--Make a well-labeled bar graph of the raisin data, and be sure to show the difference between the two brands of raisins by using color and a key.
Math--ACE 2 (25-36, 44-5)
