Apple Experiment Ends

Science
We collected apple data for the last time today. After massing the apples, we made final observations of the apple, including what they looked like on the inside. We made some conclusions about the experiment, and analyzed our results. The entire set of papers will be turned in on Monday.

Math
Students corrected and then turned in the Non Base Ten Subtraction worksheet today. Several students had trouble with borrowing 60 minutes, not 100. We will review this again next week.

Health
We started our study of alcohol use and prevention by participating in an activity that allowed us to generate lists of non-alcoholic beverages and activities that are fun to participate. The point of the activity was to empower students to have alternatives at the ready when presented with the option to do something that is potentially harmful. The kids seemed to enjoy the lesson.

Tonight's Homework:
Science--Is your apple lab work complete? All graphs, data and the write-up will be turned in on Monday.

Math--None.

Health--Get the orange parent letter signed. Be sure to carve out some time for you and your parent to do some of the Slick Tracy activities. The form on the back of the book is due by Thursday, October 13th.
