Short Cuts and Shivers!

We practiced multiplying fractions again today, looking for shortcuts. We like the idea of cross-canceling common factors before we multiply, so simplifying the answers is easier to do.

During science, students felt how evaporation is a cooling process, removing heat from a system. This was accomplished by dabbing a bit of rubbing alcohol on each person's forearm. The alcohol evaporated quickly, leaving a chilled sensation on the arm. This is due to the body's heat being used to vaporize the liquid.

Tonight's Homework:

Science--None unless you did not turn in your science lab work on this week's water cycle activities.
