We continued our study of percents by using the sentence "_____% of ______ is _______". We translated our problems into little algebra problems and then solved for the missing number. By the end of the period, students were feeling a bit more confident in their ability to solve these types of problems. Some students still need to concentrate on placing the decimal correctly, but are getting better at that as we continue to practice.
In science, we began a "black box" experiment by making depth probes and recording information in some organized fashion. This data will be used on Monday to help us determine what type of landform might lie beneath the pegboard grid.
Tonight's Homework:
Math--None, as long as you are caught up with your work.
Science--None. Enjoy the weekend, and don't lose your data!
