We compared the layers of the earth to the different layers, or parts, of an egg. We noticed that when we tried to peel the shell from the egg, sometimes a thin film tried to come off as well. This demonstrated the difference between the crust and the lithosphere. More on earth layer vocabulary will be worked on tomorrow.
In math, we continued our work on Investigation 5, and looked at multiple ways for solving a problem. By the end of our discussion, most students were feeling fairly comfortable with determining tip and tax within given limitations.
Tonight's Homework:
Math--ACE 5 (7-10 and 16, 18, and 19)
Science--Finish the four drawings of the earth and egg that you started in class today. Be sure to color each of the four pictures and label each of the layers. One side of the paper should display 4 layers of the egg and earth. The other side should display 5 layers.
