We used our raisin data to make more predictions about the number of raisins we might find in the remaining two boxes of raisins. We found that the range of guesses in our class was quite small this time, primarily because of the data we've already collected. Students added the new data to their stack graphs. We discussed the ways raisins are made, and hypothesized why the SunMaid® raisin company would have smaller but more raisins in their boxes compared to the Safeway Organic® brand of raisins.
We had our first earthquake and fire drill of the school year today. We discussed the importance of protecting the neck area (base of the skull, top of the spine) while ducking and covering.
