Experimental Design and Multiple Ways to Multiply Mixed Numbers

We reviewed many ways to multiply mixed numbers, including some ways that result in incorrect answers. Correct methods include using improper fractions, drawing pictures, and using expanded multiplication of parts. Students were challenged to use a new method to verify their work tonight. In science, we worked in groups to design an experiment to see what type of paper airplane would fly the farthest.

Tonight's Homework:
Math--Complete the 4 fraction multiplication problems you were given in class today. Be sure to do each problem at least two different ways. Also, finish the quilt piece you started in class today.

Science
--Complete the paper airplane experiment design you started in class today. You should have the question, hypothesis, materials list and procedure done by the time class starts tomorrow. Don't forget that the Slick Tracy blue activities are due by Thursday.
