Students learned how to measure volume today buy filling a bottle or vase with 25 ml of water, measuring the height of the water in the vase, and then adding another increment of water. This process was repeated until the container was filled with water. Data was recorded. We will be using this data in class tomorrow. In math, we talked about what it means to divide with fractions, and used a number of different models (fair sharing, pictures, etc.) to show this process. Students were encouraged to use these methods (and NOT the standard algorithm) to complete tonight's math homework.
Tonight's Homework:
Math--ACE 4 ( 1 - 4, 26 - 29 )
Science--Work on the black Slick Tracy activities (due by Thursday). Make a line graph of the data you collected from your bottles today.
