Hexaflexagons and the Cost of Smoking

Students calculated the amount of money smokers spend on cigarettes during a year and then speculated how much smokers might spend over a period of 30 years. After seeing that total, they suggested what they would rather purchase with that amount of money. Most students were quite shocked at the totals they came up with. In science, we created hexaflexagons to help us remember the vocabulary associated with the water cycle, which will be the next unit we study.

Tonight's Homework:
Math--None.

Science
--Study for tomorrow's test over the respiratory system and smoking units.
