Students looked at a variety of substances, including batteries, battery acid, paint, ammonia, vinegar, rubber cement, nail polish remover, kerosene, rat poison, candle wax, and lighter fluid and learned that each was related to chemicals that are either in cigarettes or cigarette smoke. We talked about how these chemicals can cause damage to certain parts of the body. Most students were amazed to think about how damaging smoking can be. In math, we did a little more review of adding and subtracting decimals.
