We worked on translating words and phrases into expressions. Unlike reading, sometimes we can't do this by just reading from left to right. Using these expressions, we then practiced evaluating them, using a set of steps that will transfer nicely to algebra problems in the future. In science, we reviewed the definition of density, and learned that both water temperature and salinity cause differences in the density of water. This is the reason for ocean currents. We worked in groups to practice navigating through a game on the NASA website that we will be using tomorrow in class.
