Wrapping Up Earthquakes and Probability, Week 1

Today, we looked at ways to create systematic lists to include all of the possibilities of a particular type of event occurring.  It took a little work, but students were able to generate systematic and organized lists, as well as determine the probability of an event actually happening, based on the number of ways that event can happen compared to the total number of different possibilities.

In science, we learned about the three different kinds of earthquake waves released when the earth decides to rumble.  These are P, S, and L waves.  See your book for specific characteristics of each type of wave.

Tonight's Homework:

Math--None, unless you didn't complete your work earlier in the week.

Science--None.  If you are bored, you could start reading chapter 5 of your science book in preparation of what we'll be doing next week.
